Connecticut-based Standard Manufacturing has expanded its line of folding .22 caliber revolvers with a version chambered in the ubiquitous .22LR cartridge. The Switch-Gun was originally released in .22 WRM, but is now labeled as 22 Multi with different cylinders available to be interchanged.
Features of the Switch Gun:
- Frame and Barrel: CNC Machined Stainless Steel for precision manufacturing
- Action: Single Action Folding Revolver
- Barrel Length: .75″
- Grip: Large Polymer for easy handling
- Weight: 9 Ounces, Loaded
- Dimensions: 2.125” x 3.75” x .75” Folded
The Switch-Gun is small, at 2.125” by 3.75” by .75” when folded. The revolver is only slightly larger than smartphones but weighing less, it won’t take up much space within a pocket or carry bag.
The Standard Manufacturing Switch-Gun is durable and made from CNC machined stainless steel for the frame and the barrel so function and reliability are not a concern for end-users. The folding revolver has a single action mechanism, so there is an initial cocking of the revolver and a 5-round cylinder. The cylinder can be swapped out from .22LR or .22WMR easily and quickly.
The large polymer grip of the revolver is said to be similar in feel to a full-sized revolver that helps control and accuracy while shooting. The company says it took the customer’s safety and comfort in mind while creating the Switch-Gun revolver. While folded, the barrel and action fit tight against the grip to fully enclose and protect the trigger. The size and lightweight, only 9 ounces fully loaded, these details make it an easy choice for an everyday carry option.
The Standard Manufacturing Switch-Gun functions like a standard .22LR revolver and is ready to be used at the push of the button that releases the folded gun, opening it. Currently, the only states the Standard Manufacturing Switch-Gun is NOT legal in are California, Massachusetts, and Maryland. The Switch-Gun in .22LR or .22WRM has an MSRP of $449.
