Holosun’s New DRS-TH Red Dot Sight with Fusion Thermal Overlay

Holosun has at last released an optic it showed quietly at the SHOT Show this past January. The Holosun DRS-TH Multi-Reticle System Red Dot sight is coming out with a fusion thermal overlay, and we finally have all the details for you.

Said to be the latest and greatest from Holosun, the new sight combines the company’s proven red dot sight technology with thermal imaging capabilities. Like Holosun’s other sights, the DRS-TH has an LED MRS, or Multi-Reticle System, with two user-selectable digital options, making obtaining a clear shot of your target easier. Additionally, the sight features a 1024×768 OLED resolution display and a digital 8x zoom for extremely crisp images at 50fps. Onboard storage allows for image and video recording.

Holosun has released its new DRS-TH red dot sight that was quietly shown at SHOT this year. The red dot sight features a user-selectable two-reticle system with five different thermal images to choose from. It has a lightweight aluminum body and can be mounted quickly to the host rifle, thanks to the Picatinny mount. [Photo credit: Holosun]
Housed in a lightweight 7075-T6 aluminum body, it is made corrosion-resistant thanks to the anodized finish and is IP67 waterproof rated. The sight boasts a large aperture and a tapered light path for a large user viewing area. Thanks to the advanced multi-coated lenses, it offers amazing clarity and light-gathering capabilities. With five thermal image modes, including white hot, highlight, outline, and fusion, the user is in complete control of the image on the go in the field.

The Holosun DRS-TH with fusion thermal overlay is powered by the included rechargeable 18350 lithium batteries that can power the red dot for up to 12 hours on a single charge, or up to seven hours while using WiFi or recording. That’s right, the red dot sight is WiFi-compatible. Using the Shake Awake technology, the DRS-TH doesn’t use unnecessary power meaning it turns itself on when it detects motion for what Holosun refers to as instant and hands-free activation. Not only that, but the sight will put itself to sleep if the host weapon is idle for an extended period of time.

The Holosun DRS-TH comes from the company with a Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny rail for quick installation as well as a charging cable when recharging is necessary. The Holosun DRS-TH Multi-Reticle System Red Dot sight has an MSRP of $1,882.99.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
