Bond Arms is best known for their bank-vault interpretation of the old Remington Model 95 double-barreled derringer, built up and back down in a number of popular calibers. But they have never backed down from making a handgun simply to make a statement. The single-shot Bond Arms Cyclops is made simply because there aren’t any small handguns chambered in .44 Magnum or .45-70. The assassination attempt on Donald Trump on July 13, 2024, and Trump’s defiant reaction have come to define his ambiguous character and his ongoing campaign. Bond Arms is paying tribute to that defiance with the new XLV (45) derringer.
The XLV (45) is a double-barrel derringer dedicated to the man and the event. It has a unique flat-sided 4.25-inch barrel that is laser engraved on the right side with Trump’s unmistakable profile and message that states, “Living Legend. I’m Back. Let’s reunite America!” –July 13, 2024. The left barrel flat is left blank for customer-requested engraving.
Although the XLV (45) makes a statement, it is also a commemorative that is meant to be shot. Built on a matte-stainless steel frame, this two-shooter is chambered in .45 ACP and wears Bond’s hand-filling B6 resin grips. Like other Bond derringers, it features a lockable crossbolt safety and a rebounding hammer. It has the same spring-loaded barrel latch on the left side and has a machined flat in the breech to retrieve the rimless .45 rounds from the chambers after firing. This limited-edition derringer is only available for a limited time and is priced at $545.47.
