Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro Pistol with Manual Safety

Springfield Armory is expanding its ever-popular Hellcat family of pistols to include the Hellcat Pro 9mm with the frame-mounted ambidextrous manual safety. This Hellcat provides the performance of a bigger pistol in a small and concealable package.

The Hellcat Pro with manual safety is said to have a smaller footprint than any other firearm in its class and has a 15+1 capacity. The pistol is 1” wide with a slim-line grip but feels good in the hand thanks in part to the mass in the slide and barrel. The extra mass design allows for an ergonomic profile while reducing muzzle flip for faster follow-up shots while maintaining the concealability that the Hellcats provide.

The Hellcat Pro with manual safety is available in a few different models, all of which are optics-ready and are designed to be used with many of the red dot optics on the market today. The slide is milled for the Springfield Micro footprint, but the slide is also equipped with the U-Dot tritium front sight with Tactical Rack rear sight as a backup option. Thanks to the low profile of the mounted optics, the sights will be able to co-witness for the shooter.

“The Hellcat Pro delivers full-size performance in a concealable, EDC-ready package with unmatched ergonomics,” says Steve Kramer, Springfield Armory’s Vice President of Marketing. “And for those who prefer a manual safety on their carry pistol, this newest variant gives them everything they could want in a CCW pistol.”

The pistol has a 3.7” barrel that sits inside a slide with both front and top serrations for better manipulation. Both the barrel and the slide have a Melonite finish for better durability. The pistol features the Springfield Adaptive Grip Texture, which is a seamless, pressure-activated texture pattern with staggered pyramid shapes.

The low-profile ambidextrous safety is placed advantageously for both left- and right-handed shooters at the rear of the frame. Additionally, the pistol has a Picatinny rail in the dustcover area of the frame for mounting various accessories as needed.

A reversible magazine release and a loaded chamber indicator round out the features of the new Hellcat variant. The pistol ships with two 15-round magazines. MSRP is $649 for the base pistol and $859 for the pistol and Shield SMSc optic.

Patti Miller is one of the most awesome females in the tactical/firearm (or any) industry. Imagine a tall, hawt, dangerous Laura Ingalls Wilder type with cool hair and a suppressed blaster and you'll be getting the idea. What's interesting is that in addition to being a willing brawler and intrepid adventuress, she's also an Ent/Ogier level gardener and a truly badass baker.
