Aimpoint Expands Acro RDS Line: New For 2024

Back in 1974, Swedish-based Aimpoint pioneered the first electric red dot reflex sight for use by hunters and sport shooters. To mark its 50th anniversary the company aims to take 2024 by storm with several new product offerings.

Aimpoint 3X-P Magnifier which was developed to work in conjunction with Aimpoint red dot sights
The Aimpoint 3X-P Magnifier was developed to work in conjunction with Aimpoint red dot sights

This includes the new Aimpoint 3X-P Magnifier, which was developed to work in conjunction with Aimpoint red dot sights, while the 3x power magnifying module was built to withstand the demands of professional end-users. It features a variable dioptric setting (-2 to +2), which enables the magnifier to be adjusted to an individual user’s eye, and an ergonomic design with a protective rubber cover for a sure grip when used as a handheld device.

“This magnifier increases the capabilities for many users of Aimpoint sights,” said Erik Jeppsson, director of marketing and sales worldwide for Aimpoint. “We now offer a magnifier that fits the needs of demanding professionals, while maintaining a budget-friendly price point.”

It can increase the distance of an aiming solution without sacrificing the advantage of rapid target acquisition. Whether paired with an Aimpoint red dot sight or used as a handheld monocular, the 3X-P also provides a crisp sight picture with a generous field of view. It utilizes the red dot in an Aimpoint sight as the aiming reticle, eliminating the need for re-zeroing when shifting between non-magnified and magnified aiming. The magnifier can further be used with the quick-detach Aimpoint TwistMount, or with the FlipMount, allowing the magnifier to be quickly flipped in or out of the optical axis or removed from the firearm completely.

The magnifier mounts behind Aimpoint sights eliminating the need for re-zeroing when shifting between non-magnified and magnified aiming, while it comes with an Aimpoint TwistMount that attaches easily to a Picatinny rail (MIL-STD-1913). The magnifier is also compatible with other 30 mm scope ring mounts. It offers a protective rubber cover to provide an ergonomic grip when used as a hand-held device, while it is Submersible up to 25 meters (82 feet). The 3X-P Magnifier is also fully shockproof and can withstand temperatures ranging from -46 degrees C to +71 C (-50.8 F to +159.8 F)

Aimpoint Acro P-2 sights
The Aimpoint Acro P-2 remains a popular choice with hunters, sport shooters, law enforcement, and military customers.

Since its introduction in 2021, the Acro P-2 has been popular with hunters, sport shooters, law enforcement, and military customers. For 2024, Aimpoint is introducing two new versions of the Acro P-2 in Cerakote coatings – known worldwide for corrosion and chemical resistance, UV and thermal stability, and durability under extreme conditions. These will be available in Sniper Grey and Flat Dark Earth.

Designed and tested to withstand the shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, and material stresses generated by firing over 20,000 rounds of .40 S&W ammunition, the Acro P-2 has set the benchmark. Designed to endure the physical demands of semi-automatic pistol slides, the Acro P-2 closed emitter red dot optic includes a brighter, more efficient LED emitter coupled with a higher capacity CR2032 battery that can provide more than 5 years of constant-on use.

Aimpoint Acro S-2
The Acro S-2 features a 9 MOA dot size to provide an optimal combination of speed and accuracy

Aimpoint’s new Acro S-2 was also designed specifically for use with shotguns that feature a ventilated rib and could help greatly enhance hit percentage for small games, bird hunting, and on the sporting clays course. The S-2 sight further provides a compact, low-profile optic for shotgun hunters and sport shooters. It features an integrated carbon fiber reinforced mounting system that positions the Acro S-2 on the lowest possible optical axis without adding unnecessary weight, while the optic attaches directly to the ventilated rib. It includes eight interchangeable adapter plates to accommodate most standard shotguns. Its large 9 MOA red dot simplifies lead visualization, which can enhance the automatic refinement of muzzle swing and positioning.

The sleek sight has no protruding features, and it provides a clear field of view with both eyes open. Its low optical axis of 15 mm allows for proper mounting of the gun to the cheek, and for shooters who are cross-eye dominant, the Acro S-2 can enable the shooter to use their strong side while shooting without an ocular or having to switch sides altogether.

“Adding the Acro S-2 sight to your shotgun provides invaluable feedback, as the red dot shows exactly where the bore is relative to the target,” explained Brian Lisankie, president of Aimpoint Inc. “It makes a superb training tool for beginners, shortens the learning curve, and provides immediate success.”

The Acro S-2 features a 9 MOA dot size to provide the optimal combination of speed and accuracy, even in bright sky conditions, while it is rugged – with its fully enclosed design able to withstand harsh conditions, and is even submersible to five meters (15 feet). It offers five years of constant operation on a single CR2032 battery and has brightness settings.
