Streamlight Announces Ultra-Compact EDC Wedge XT

Streamlight is among the most respected companies that produce high-quality lights. The Wedge Flashlight has proven very popular in recent years, with a pocket-friendly shape that resembles a pocket knife more than a flashlight. Now, the company has launched a new Wedge flashlight model — a ‘little brother’ if you will. This model is smaller, with a push-button tail switch instead of the toggle switch on the original Wedge. They’re calling this new one the Ultra-Compact EDC Wedge XT.

“Like the popular Wedge EDC light, the unique, ergonomic design of the Wedge XT makes it the perfect concealed carry light for patrol duty, tactical maneuvers, and automotive, industrial, or DIY uses,” said Michael F. Dineen, Streamight’s Chief Revenue Officer. “It’s also perfect for outdoor uses, including hunting, camping, boating, or just about any activity where you need a dependable light on hand for instant, bright illumination.”

Features

  • The light measures 4.25 inches long and 1.0 inch high. For comparison, the original Wedge flashlight is approximately 5.5 inches long.
  • It weighs 2.62 ounces, with the battery installed.
  • It is IPX7-rated for waterproof operation to one meter, and impact resistance to one meter.
  • Using power LED technology, the Ultra-Compact EDC Wedge XT provides two output levels — High and Low.
  • On the High setting, it offers 500 lumens, 1900 candelas, an 87-meter beam distance, and a run time of two hours.
  • On the Low setting, it offers 50 lumens, 200 candelas, a 28-meter beam distance, and a run time of 11 hours.
  • The setting is selected with a programmable switch that allows the user to select from two programs: high/low or low/high.
  • The 950 mAh lithium polymer cell battery is recharged by plugging the included USB-C cord into the waterproof USB port.
  • A full recharge takes six hours; red and green indicator LEDs above the charging port indicate charging status.
