ProMag certainly has an up and down reputation within the firearms world. I know I\u2019ve had my share of bad experiences with ProMag products, but I\u2019ve also had good experiences\u2014surprisingly good experiences. I\u2019m not going to tell you to load up your duty belt or plate carrier with ProMags. However, even if they might not meet the standards of a duty magazine, I do have five reasons why you should take a second look at ProMags.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. No One Else Makes What ProMag Makes<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Got a rare, historical firearm you need mags for? ProMag probably makes them. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s say I have a <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-walther-p38-9mm-8-round-blue-steel-magazine.html\">Walther P-38<\/a>, and I don\u2019t want to spend 50 bucks a pop for original historical magazines I\u2019m going to abuse at the range. From the M1 Carbine to the UZI there is something for everyone.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of my personal experiences with ProMag was trying to find a <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-ar-15-rollermag-223-rem-5-56-nato-5-round-magazine.html\">5-round AR 15 magazine<\/a>. You ask why? Well, I wanted to hunt with my AR, and my state only allows you to hunt with 5-round magazines. It turns out those are rather rare, outside of the ProMag variant, which has yet to let me down. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have a weird gun with magazines that are hard to find, ProMag likely makes it. From Uzi mags to 22 LR AR 15 mags for my CMMG kit, they have their hand in all of it. Drum Designs For All\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drum magazines are mostly used for silly stuff. I can\u2019t think of any practical uses for drums as a normal dude, but I want them, and I have a right to own them. If it\u2019s something I\u2019m just buying to have fun with, I don\u2019t want to spend a ton of money on it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ProMag makes Glock, <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-cz-scorpion-9mm-50-round-drum-magazine.html\">Scorpion<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-ak-47-7-62x39mm-50-round-drum-magazine.html\">AK<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-ar-15-223-5-56-65-round-drum-magazine.html\">AR<\/a>, and even Ruger 10\/22 drums for a very fair price. These silly things are a ton of fun when it comes to turning money into noise. <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-sig-sauer-p365-p365xl-9mm-50-round-drum-magazine.html\">I really want their P365 drum<\/a>, because why not? The 12 gauge drums were a blast, and so are their Glock drums, and their AK drums, and all the other silly and fun stuff they make. Why spend a ton of money on something designed to goof off with? ProMag drums are affordable, reliable, and made for a wide variety of firearms.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3. Extendos!\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m a fan of extended magazines, and why not? I don\u2019t have a practical purpose for a 33 round Glock happy stick, but I have more than one of them. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Extendos are a lot of fun, and if you go beyond Glock, you might have a hard time finding extends for some platforms. If that\u2019s the case, then ProMag likely makes one. I wanted one for my Banshee Mk17 that uses P320 magazines, and the most I could get was 21 from SIG. ProMag made a <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-sig-sauer-p320-p250-9mm-32-round-magazine.html\">32-round model<\/a> for next to nothing price-wise.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_74891\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-74891\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-74891 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Extendos-extended-magazines.jpg\" alt=\"Extended magazines are fun for everyone! This weird CZ 75 clone is often left in the shadows, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-cz-75-tz-75-magnum-research-baby-eagle-9mm-32-round-magazine-blued-steel.html\">ProMag makes a 32-rounder<\/a> for it. Hell, when I got a Hi-Point C9, I knew I needed to outfit it with an extendo. No way I could avoid that, and now my Yeet Cannon can <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-hi-point-995-995ts-carbine-9mm-15-round-magazine.html\">yeet 15 times<\/a> without a reload. The Hi-Point Yeet Cannon is limited to 8 rounds without the ProMag 15-round extended option.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4. More Than Mags\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oh, hey, they make more than mags these days. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My first positive experience with ProMag was the drop in <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-ar-15-9mm-magazine-quick-change-adapter.html\">Colt SMG block<\/a> for standard mil-spec ARs. I wanted a PCC in AR form years and years ago, and the options were slim. Guess what? I&#8217;ve still got it, and it still functions all these years later. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At one point, I even goofed off with a bump stock before the orange coat banned them. It held magazines perfectly and ensured reliable operation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ProMag also makes stocks, <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-ak-47-polymer-magazine-clamp-4-pack-4914.html\">magazine couplers<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gunmagwarehouse.com\/promag-1911-45-acp-single-stack-magazine-loader.html\">various odds and ends<\/a> that seem to work well beyond their price points.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5. They Are Still Cheap\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ProMag makes its products affordable. Very affordable. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That low price point makes ProMag hard to beat. It\u2019s true they aren\u2019t duty grade magazines, but their price point is well below that of most duty grade magazines. And it&#8217;s cheap.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The low price makes them affordable range toys for various purposes involving both fun and training. I beat the hell out of mine with dry fire practice to avoid breaking or dirtying up the magazines I use for serious purposes.
