1. Galco Kingtuk IWB Holster

Odds are good the gun person on your list wants a new holster. It’s almost a rite of passage for concealed carry to have at least one overflowing tote of discarded or seldom-used holsters, and finding the perfect one is a bit like a search for the holy grail. Galco makes a wide array of quality gear, and their Kingtuk IWB holster is a top-selling design that’s become so popular there are a number of variations on the original design.

The Galco Kingtuk IWB holster is offered for both semi-autos and revolvers. As its name suggests, it’s made to be worn inside the waistband and has a large enough leather back plate to make it more comfortable for extended wear. The above-pictured item is the Kingtuk Air, which has ventilation built into the back piece to reduce sweating. It’s a hybrid holster with a premium steerhide back plate and a Kydex molded shell. A pair of the company’s polymer UniClip and Ultimate Stealth clips hold it in place on the wearer’s belt and can be adjusted for carry height. There are some models available designed for use with red dots as well.

2. Hornady Critical Defense

Using the best-possible ammunition for defensive purposes depends on a few factors including the gun you carry. All ammunition doesn’t perform identically in every gun, so it’s important to spend time running the self-defense ammo you’re interested in at the range. One ammo brand that performs well across the board is Hornady, and its Critical Defense line is deservedly trusted by countless gun owners. Basically, you can’t go wrong with a box of high-quality defensive ammo.

Critical Defense uses Hornady’s patented Flex Tip, which is a polymer insert in the hollow point nose of the bullet. The Flex Tip facilitates reliable expansion on impact and helps keep the nose of the bullet from being clogged by foreign matter as it expands and penetrates. Cases are nickel-plated to resist corrosion and increase visibility in low-light situations, and the manufacturer states propellants are made to burn fast to reduce muzzle rise (which, in turn, improves accuracy). Hornady Critical Defense is available in a variety of calibers, so odds are it’s offered in the one you’re looking for.

3. Wolf Premium Oil

Lube is a fantastic option for stocking stuffers. (Photo credit: Wolf Premium Oil)

If you’re wondering why lube and not a cleaning kit, we’ll tell you why. Generally speaking, obsessive cleaning is unnecessary. Keeping the gun well-lubed is the way to go. The great thing about Wolf Premium Oil is that it’s a great one-stop shop for more than just gun oil (that and it’s great gun oil, too). Through Wolf, you can get all kinds of useful stocking stuffers like gun oil, fishing reel oil, and blade oil for knives. And if the person you’re shopping for is into archery, there’s an oil for that, too.

The Wolf Premium Oil line of lubricants is fantastic. It works as promised, doesn’t take much to get the job done, and comes in nifty applicator bottles. The fact the company offers options that appeal to a variety of outdoor activities is a huge plus as well. Oh, and they have cutter’s fluid to extend the life of cutting tools and layout fluid for craftsman activities like scribing. There’s even a metal scribe in their product list. Basically, they’ve got you covered for the care and maintenance of self-defense tools as well as for some artistic applications.

4. SnapSafe Two-Gun Keypad Vault

A good safe is a must for any gun owner. (Photo credit: SnapSafe)

It goes without saying that gun owners should have a good safe on hand. And as great as gigantic, heavy safes are, they’re not realistic for every person or every location in a home. Using a smaller, secure safe like the SnapSafe Two-Gun Keypad Vault is a good way to keep your gun out of the wrong hands while making it readily available for your own use.

This vault is designed to hold multiple handguns, but it can also be used for important papers, ammo, or anything else that needsto be locked up. A 2nd shelf makes storage of multiple items easier, but the shelf can also be removed if the user prefers not to have it in place. There are also four pre-drilled holes designed for bolts which we highly recommend utilizing because they allow the safe to be bolted to the floor. Doing that makes it a lot harder for a thief to simply grab the safe and go.

Other features of the safe include a programmable keypad, a springloaded door, and durable 16 gauge steel construction. With this safe’s quality and security features, including the bolt-down holes, it’s a solid option for gifting to someone with handguns.

5. Magpul PMAG

Magazines make our guns run—or not—so it’s important to have well-made mags for carry guns. Gun owners can also never have too many magazines, meaning adding mags to someone’s collection will always be a welcome gift idea. You’re not going to hear someone say “wow, I wish I didn’t have these mags for my concealed carry gun.”

Magpul designs and manufactures some of the best quality and most reliably-performing aftermarket magazines in the gun industry. If you’ve always associated their PMAG line with rifle, you’re missing out, because they make them for handguns, too.

One good example is the company’s Glock mags. Those mags are made using the company’s proprietary polymer for durability and feature high-visibility controlled tilt followers and stainless steel springs. The floorplate is easily removable for maintenance (yes, mags need maintenance, too).

Perhaps best of all, these mags are available in standard capacity or as drums. Basically, if you can handle the weight, you can put a lot of ammo through your Glock using one mag. Magpul PMAGs are well worth checking out.
