From the idea born out of CZ and Dan Wesson, the DWX pistol was born, and a great many people have been not so patiently waiting for it. The full-size pistol is a great mix of the two pistol ideals.
The match-grade barrel is a breeze to remove thanks to the bushing-less barrel system that resembles a P-10 or P-09/P-07. The DWX pistol is 8.5” long and 1.5” wide, with is comparable with other full-sized pistols.

With a departure from the standard 1911 link system, the locked breech barrel system uses the CZ-style takedown with the slide stop. On the sides of the slide, plenty of serrations are present, including front or forward cocking serrations that are helpful for press checks. The top of the slide has a serrated rib that is flat on top to reduce any glare between the front and rear sights.
Speaking of the sights, the Dan Wesson DWX has an adjustable rear sight and a serrated rear face that helps keep down any glare. The rear sight can be adjusted for height and drift for windage for better accuracy. The front fiber optic sight is great for quickly acquiring the front sight in daylight conditions and gathers the ambient light and makes the dot glow. Between the serrated rear sight face and the fiber optic front sight, the sights are good for the range and give a crisp sight picture.
The DWX has an ambidextrous safety on the grip that allows for easy access to the safety for both right- and left-handed shooters. In a twist on the Commander hammer, the DWX features a square hammer. To round out the features, the pistol has a flat K-style trigger that is a slightly altered version of the standard three-hole trigger.
The CZ Dan Wesson DWX 9mm full-sized pistol will feel familiar to both 1911 and CZ users with many ways to customize and fine-tune. The pistol has an MSRP of $2,099.
