The CZ USA P-09 is the modernized polymer-framed version of the firm’s famous CZ-75, one of the original Wonder Nine pistols. The new P-09 Nocturne represents the platform as its most fleshed-out yet, with improved ergonomics over the original P-07 and P-09 pistols and an optics-ready capacity.
The new P-09 Nocturne is mechanically the same as the trusted P-07 and P-09 9mm pistols on which it is based. It features a polymer frame, which houses a stainless steel slide. It is a hammer-fired double-action/single-action pistol that features an ambidextrous de-cocker with no manual safety, as well as a reversible magazine release. It features the same squared-off trigger guard and 1913 Picatinny rail for a weapon light.
The primary differences with the new P-09 Nocturne are the luminescent, high-profile iron sights and an optics-ready footprint that is compatible with Holosun K and Shield RMS reflex sights. The grip texture has also been upgraded as the stippling is now finer and wraps around the entirety of the grip surface, rather than larger paneling. The P-09 Nocturne also has serrations along the sighting plane behind the front sight as well as forward and rearward cocking serrations on the slide.
The CZ P-09 Nocturne is available in either a full-size or compact version. The full-sized or F model P-09 features a 4.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel and a nineteen-round capacity, while the compact C model has a 3.75-inch barrel and a fifteen-round capacity. Both represent the latest that CZ USA has to offer and come with an MSRP of only $549.
