The M&P15T SBR is one of Smith & Wesson’s newer rifle offerings and is only for law enforcement officials. As the name implies, it features a short steel barrel, just 11.5 inches in length, and features an Armornite finish. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, S&W refers to this rifle as the best combination of function and form.
Features
The barrel sits inside a 10.5” free-floating MLOK handguard lending to the overall compact design of the weapon. The upper for the M&P15R SBR has an ambidextrous Radian Raptor-LTTM charging handle, an ambi safety selector, MLOK sling attachment points, a chromed firing pin, and a forward assist, among other features. The rifle comes with Gun Sight Company metal folding sights.
The M&P15T SBR features a B5 Systems SOPMOD stock and Type 23 pistol grip and utilizes a flat-face trigger. The integral forged trigger guard rounds out the look. The compact SBR goes down to just 31.5 inches, making it an ideal combination of small but powerful enough to get the job done. With the MLOK handguard, and all the accessories that go with it, the rifle is optics ready out of the box. The rifle is built to last and Smith & Wesson designed the features to back that up.
The rifle is designed for those on duty and is said to be the ideal modern sporting rifle. It comes from the factory with a Magpul 30+1 capacity magazine for extra shots when it is necessary.
