SIG Romeo-X: Sleek and Streamlined Pistol Reflex Sights

Red dot sights are now a common sight at the range and are also frequently used on carry guns. Of course, if you’re looking for a red dot, you’ve probably discovered you need the best possible sight for the task at hand. That means finding a red dot sight with a footprint that’s compatible with your handgun and that offers various features applicable to what you’re doing with it. This is where the new SIG Romeo-X Pistol Mounted Reflex Sight comes in. It’s made to perform with a focus on closer distances, making it a great option for defensive use.

SIG Sauer’s Romeo-X Pistol Mounted Reflex Sight is available in Pro and Compact models. SIG says the Romeo-X sights were created based on the MIL-SPEC ROMEO M17. As reflex sights, these red dots aren’t magnified and feature a fixed 2 MOA dot within a 32 MOA circle. The manufacturer states the dot and circle are also individually selectable to give users options for focal points. A durable 7075 aluminum housing ensures resistance to wear and tear.

Features of the Romeo-X include:

  • Low deck height to ensure compatibility and co-witness with standard height iron sights.
  • MOTAC (Motion Activated Illumination) so the dot turns on when drawn from the holster.
  • Runs off a single CR1632 battery.
  • The battery is side-loaded to allow changing it out without removing the sight from the gun.
  • 20,000 battery life depending on the setting.
  • 80 MOA windage and elevation adjustment ranges.
  • 15 brightness adjustment settings, 12 for day and 3 for night.
  • 2 MOA red dot with 32 MOA circle surrounding it
  • Patent pending beryllium copper flexure arm for superior conductivity and strength.
  • Black anodized housing finish for reduced glare and resistance to use-related wear.

The Romeo-X Compact is designed to fit the SIG Sauer P365 and has an RMSc footprint. As for the Romeo X Pro, it’s specifically compatible with the SIG Sauer P320 and has a DeltaPoint PRO footprint. Screws on both sights can be adjusted using a T6 Torx. The side-access battery opening has a slotted anti-snag cap on the Compact and a slotted, knurled cap on the Pro. Both Romeo X sights are IPX-7 rated. According to the manufacturer, adjustment clicks are tactile and clear rather than mushy and difficult to decipher.

Both sights are sleek and streamlined with the Compact weighing in at one ounce and the Pro weighing 1.15 ounces. Dimensions for the Romeo X Compact are 1.62 inches by 0.94 inches by 1.23 inches. The Romeo X Pro measures 1.83 inches by 0.94 inches by 1.23 inches. These reflex sights are made to add minimal weight and size to your handgun and make excellent additions to carry guns.

MSRP for the SIG Sauer Romeo X Compact is set at $519.99 and the Romeo X Pro is set at $589.99.
