Anderson Manufacturing of Hebron, Kentucky, has been a prolific maker of AR-15 parts and complete rifles for close to 30 years. Their Defender series of rifles, previously available only to law enforcement, is now going commercial with the new AM-15 Frontline series of rifles, which are on display at SHOT Show 2024.
The Frontline Series is subdivided by barrel length and handguard options. The Frontline 7.5, 11.5, and 16, come with 7.5-, 11.5-, and 16-inch barrels. In addition, the Frontline 7.5 braced pistol is smartly chambered in .300 Blackout while the rest of the line is in 5.56 NATO. These models feature QD sling swivels and Anderson’s proprietary Stable Lock Handguard System that is ready to take M-LOK accessories.
The 16-inch rifle has an H1-weight buffer tube system, Magpul K2 pistol grip, and MOE SL buttstock. The 11.5-inch model comes with the same setup except it uses an H2-weight buffer time, while the 7.5-inch pistol has a standard carbine tube. Both pistols use a BSL Arm Brace instead of the SL stock.
If M-Lok accessories are not for you, consider the Frontline QR-10.5 (with a 10.5-inch barrel) and the QR-16, which features a 9.5 and 12-inch free-floated quad rail, respectively. The AM-15 Frontline pistols have an MSRP of $799, while the carbine models command a $50 premium.
