Franchi, an Italian firearms manufacturer, has taken superior ergonomics and feel and melded it with Italian tradition in the upgraded Moment Elite rifle, the All-Terrain model. According to Franchi, it is a fast and easy-to-carry scout-style bolt-action rifle, available in .223 or .308.
The All-Terrain model builds off the standard Momentum Elite rifle with a detachable box magazine, one-piece Picatinny rail top, threaded barrel and muzzle brake, adjustable trigger, and one-piece, spiral fluted bolt with three locking lugs.
The All-Terrain has an 18” threaded barrel, which is 4 to 6 inches shorter than the other Elite models. Free-floating around the barrel is the extended Picatinny rail with a forward end. With plenty of space for accessories on that rail, the end user will be able to use an LPVO (Low Power Variable Optics), scout-style optics, and even modern magnifier-optic combos.
Designed for hunting varmints to big game sized animals, the floating barrels have a 1 MOA guarantee given the correct ammunition. According to the company, the rifles have proven accuracy performance for a superior hunting rifle. The All-Terrain comes with a rugged flip-up aperture rear sight, that is adjustable for windage, and has an elevation adjustable blade front sight system.
To match the overall details of the All-Terrain Elite rifle, a stellar stock is necessary. The stock has a broad, flat-bottom forend that gives extra stability in braced shooting and a positive grip when shooting unsupported. The M-LOK attachment points on the front of the stock for a bipod or additional accessory or the consumer can utilize a quick-detach slot for a sling.
Rounding out the features of the All-Terrain Elite, it has a TSA recoil pad for felt recoil reduction, a threaded barrel for suppressors or other muzzle devices, an adjustable trigger, and a Midnight Bronze Cerakote finish. The rifle weighs in at around 7.5 pounds and is 40 inches long. The Franchi All-Terrain Elite rifle has an MSRP of $1,449. Folks can see the rifle in person at SHOT Show 2023 at booth 13238.
