In the market for a proven, yet modern, defensive handgun? Beretta has introduced the 80X Cheetah, a pistol designed with self-defense-focused gun owners in mind. The company’s line of Cheetah pistols originated in 1976 and it’s been years since they were readily available. The Beretta 80X Cheetah is based on the original 84 and is back better than ever. If you want a solidly built, carefully designed handgun chambered in 380 ACP, the 80x Cheetah just might be the gun for you.

Beretta says they’re bringing back this modern reimagining of their classic 380 with “exceptional” comfort style. The Beretta 80X Cheetah is based on the company’s original Cheetah line, only with a new sleek design and enhanced features.
Updates include an ergonomic design meant to make the gun a fantastic fit for concealed carry, with a smaller Vertec style grip profile, and the X-treme S Double/Single trigger to enhance accuracy. The 80X cheetah also has a skeletonized hammer and is optics-ready, meaning gun owners can add a red dot with no need for a trip to the gunsmith. This pistol has a 13 +1 capacity, making it a good option for defensive use whether for daily carry or at home.

As mentioned above, this pistol is chambered in 380 ACP. Its 25-ounce empty weight allows it to remain relatively light while just heavy enough to somewhat mitigate felt recoil and muzzle rise. The gun has an overall length of 6.8 inches, an overall height of 4.9 inches, and an overall width of 1.4 inches. These dimensions make it compact, but not too small to operate comfortably, even with larger hands.
Self-defense-friendly features include the ability to immediately mount an aftermarket red dot sight and an accessory rail ahead of the trigger guard for the addition of items like a weapon-mounted light. The gun has forward and rearward upright serrations to make racking the slide easier and an aggressively designed backstrap and front strap for a sure hold during live fire. The hammer is grooved on the surface to help avoid slipping during use.

Features of the Beretta 80X Cheetah include:
- 380 ACP chambering.
