Full-Sized 9mm at a Compact Price: Ruger’s Security 9 SHOT Show 2018

For those of you who are familiar with Ruger’s American Pistol, this should seem like old-hat. What’s new and compelling about the Security 9 is the price: MSRP $379. That should shake out to $325 in no-time.

The outside doesn’t have the aggressive texture of many of its competitors, but the Security 9 has plenty to hold on to. Inside, the gun has an aluminum chassis. The slide has a few wide cuts for texture, front and rear.

The gun runs on a system that’s based on the hammer-fired LCP. There are numerous safeties, too.  It will ship with two magazines.
