Rosco Manufacturing Purebred Barrels: Now in 6mm ARC

Rosco Manufacturing of Central Falls, Rhode Island, specializes in match-quality OEM barrels and complete upper receiver groups for the AR platform. Their Purebred line of 416R stainless steel barrels features an SPR profile for added heat resistance and a gas block set up for use with or without a suppressor. That line spans popular chamberings, including .223 Wylde and .300 Blackout. New for 2024 is the Purebred barrel in 6mm ARC.

The 6mm ARC is to the AR-15 what the .243 Winchester round is to bolt action rifles. It features a .24 caliber bullet that is legal in more places for big game hunting but is optimized for low recoil and a flatter trajectory than the .223 or larger caliber rounds. If you are considering building an AR with those attributes, consider Rosco Purebred in that round.

The Purebred 6mm ARC barrel line is constructed from 416 stainless steel and bead-blasted to a matte finish. It features a stepped crown to protect the rifling and a 5/8×24 TPI threaded muzzle for attaching your favorite flash hider or muzzle brake. It features a fast 1:7.5 twist rate for stabilizing heavier bullets and a .750-inch gas block size optimized for typical bullet weights and the use of suppressors.

“We hold ourselves to the most stringent quality standards which is what makes Rosco Barrels perform time after time under demanding situations,” said Rosco Manufacturing President Mike D’Angelo Jr. “The 6mm ARC Purebred Barrel line is made to enhance the performance of the 6mm ARC, and we’re excited to offer three variations to shooters who are looking to take their accuracy to the next level.”

The Purebred 6mm ARC comes in three lengths with three different gas system setups: 14.5 inches with an intermediate gas tube length, 16 inches with a rifle-length system, and a 20-inch barrel with a rifle+1 system. All of these options are available as standalone options or with the addition of Rosco’s V2 nonadjustable gas block and melonite-treated gas tubes. MSRP on these new build options in this up-and-coming caliber ranges from $235-$270.
