Magpul’s New ELG M-LOK Stock and Hand Guard Serves to Complement Marlin Lever Action

Fans of lever-action rifles will be quick to suggest it is a timeless design, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. At the recent 2024 NRA convention in Dallas, Magpul introduced its new lever-action furniture – the aptly named Enhanced Lever Gun (ELG) M-LOK, which includes a new stock for the Marlin 1895, 1894, and 336 models and an ELG Hand Guard that is specific to the Marlin 1985.

It takes the iconic 19th-century lever-action rifles that gained fame on the American frontier and adds a modern 21st-century flare. Marlin will offer the components on its Trapper Rifle later this summer.

The Magpul ELG M-LOK Stock and M-LOK Hand Guard offer new features, ergonomics, and a new look for the iconic lever-action rifle.

Stock Features

The Magpul ELG M-LOK Stock was designed to provide Marlin lever-action rifle shooters with a stock that provides maximum adaptability and further optimizes the classic design. Key features include an adjustable length-of-pull (LOP) and comb height for various types of optics, storage of extra ammunition or accessories in a weatherized portion of the stock, and even the ability to attach various Magpul M-LOK accessories and slings.

The stock offers up to 1.5 inches of overall LOP adjustment from 12.5 inches to 14.0 inches in 0.5-inch increments. It further offers a cheek riser and two 0.25-inch shims for a total comb height adjustment of 0.75 inches, which attaches to the internal storage compartment door. The stock’s internal storage area provides for a quiver for six .45-70 Government or .30-30 Winchester cartridges, along with an open storage compartment insert. The ELG M-LOK Stock will further accept Magpul Type 1 and Type 2 QD cups for mounting a sling, and two M-LOK slots reside on each side for further accessory mounting options, such as an ammo saddle, while it includes a sling swivel located in the bottom of the pistol grip, which allows for shorter slings and a higher muzzle-down carry option.

The Hand Guard

Designed to fit and optimize the functionality of the Marlin 1895-pattern series of lever-action rifles with the hand guard retaining cap, the 12-inch long Enhanced Lever Gun (ELG) M-LOK Hand Guard attaches using a patented mechanism, requiring the user to simply remove the OEM or other manufactured hand guard and end cap.

It offers six M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions for mounting a host of accessories to help shooters make the most out of their classic hunting or home-defense rig. It is also compatible with both Type 1 and Type 2 Magpul Rail Covers for those who desire a clean look on their 1895-pattern lever-action rifles. It also features an integrated hand stop on its front end.

Magpul’s ELG M-LOK Stock and Hand Guard are now available at retail in Black, FDE, and ODG. MSRP: Stock $139.95; Hand Guard $79.95.
