⊕“Virtual” Gun Rights Policy Conference

Largest Attendance and Participation — Ever!

Gun News. Last weekend the 35th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference was conducted completely online, and apparently it was a huge success. With more than 4100 pre-registered, by the time it was said and done, the conference had over 300,000 viewers across the country. Alan Gottlieb, founder and executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation, said attendance to this event shattered all previous conference records. “It was the biggest gathering of gun rights activists in the world.”

Further, the GRPC program, which appeared as a live Facebook event, continues to be watched. (You can find it by visiting the Second Amendment Foundation website or YouTube.)

Gottlieb credits this year’s increased attendance and participation to alarm for personal safety resulting from efforts to defund police, riots, looting, and the Democrats’ push for more extremist gun control.

From SAF:

There were about 120 speakers covering topics from state legislative affairs to the growing interest in firearms ownership by women. Several attorneys specializing in Second Amendment cases weighed in with reports on what has been happening, and what may be on the horizon. Several journalists, radio talk hosts and bloggers offered suggestions on how grassroots activists could cultivate better relations with the media, and there were discussions about invasive gun control and gun rights internationally.

Members of Congress and the U.S. Senate made special appearances, and there were also presentations on the growth of gun ownership in the LBGTQ community.

“We had 25 percent more speakers than usual,” Gottlieb revealed, “and much more content. It may be very difficult to return to our traditional in-person conference format, and we will be evaluating how to do it bigger and better next year and in the years ahead.

“I am simply overwhelmed at the support, participation and involvement in the upcoming election this year,” he concluded. “It was an exhausting and humbling experience, and my hat is off to all of those who joined us remotely and made this year’s GRPC a success.”

⊕Inforce

Wild2 Weapon Integrated Lighting Device

Gun News. Here’s a new pistol light on the market from Inforce. It’s called the Wild2, and it’s soon to be followed by the Wild1. The company says these lights have are the result of years of listening, learning, and product development. Made of 6061-T6 aluminum and Type III Mil-Spec hard anodized finish, the Wild2 uses a parabolic reflector to shape and throw 1000 lumens of white light, with a 90-minute runtime. The light has three modes: constant, momentary on, and strobe, which is activated by pressing on the paddle switches on the left or right side. Inforce says this device is impervious to dust, sand, dirt, and is waterproof to 60 feet.

According to Inforce’s Vice President, Matthew Wolfe, “In the series, Wild2 and Wild1 lights incorporate our corrective responses to various weaknesses of popular existing aluminum pistol lights. Accordingly, from aesthetic, structural, and performance standpoints, as well as regarding ease of activation by the full spectrum of conceivable users, we believe these are excellent products, and we’re excited to get them into our customers’ hands.”

gun news: Inforce Wild2 Weapon Integrated Lighting Device

From Inforce:

The first of Inforce’s 2020 product releases, the Wild2 will be soon followed by Wild1, a single-battery model designed for compact handguns like the Glock 19. Both models will resonate with fans of the company’s traditional styling, although their hard-anodized 6061aluminum exteriors represent a marked departure from Inforce’s longstanding preference for glass-reinforced polymers. But taking their time to release this line of pistol lights comes with opportunities. Seizing one of them, Inforce has gone where others have yet to and made the Wild series’ battery door and activation switches out of aluminum.

Other key features of the Wild models include a specialized parabolic reflector, which shapes the 1000-lumen (500-lumen for Wild1) beam into a crisp hotspot while still affording adequate spill. Additionally, an activation method ideal for people with smaller hands. Inforce believes its Wild series will be of particular interest to the growing demographic of female handgun owners.

J-Clip-R EDC Speedloader for Ruger LCR

Gun News. Zeta6 has a new speedloader for the wheelgun fans out there. It’s designed to make reloading your 5-shot Ruger LCR revolver faster. The company says it works perfectly with the LCR models chambered in .38 special and 357 Magnum. Note, this loader does not fit the models chambered in 9mm Luger, 327 Federal Magnum, 22 LR, or 22 WMR models. Also, The Zeta6 J-CLIP-R is not recommended for Ruger LCR revolvers fitted with extra-large rubber or wooden grips.

As with the original J-CLIP,  we wanted to provide the smallest, most comfortable pocket-carry speedloader product for one-step reloading. Because of its size, weight, and reliability, the Ruger LCR is a popular EDC weapon that is due its own EDC speedloader.”

It is the perfect scope to pack on a long, back-country adventure where space and weight are an issue.”

Hawke Optics Nature-trek 9-27x56 Spotting Scope

It comes with lens covers and has an MRSP of only $219, making it the most economical, compact and clear choice for hunters looking for the ultimate compact spotting scope for this fall.

Can you believe it’s been 19 years since the world stopped breathing and we watched, over and over on our televisions, the collapse of the Twin Towers; the gaping, smoky hole in the Pentagon, and the field of debris in Pennsylvania? Nearly 3,000 died, with over 25,000 injuries, and since then many people have suffered substantial chronic health issues.  The attacks of that day are reportedly the deadliest terrorist attacks in human history. It was also the deadliest day ever for first responders.

We will never forget…..

In this week’s gun news, Brownells is helping out in California and SAR USA is taking action to keep up with customer demand (because it doesn’t look like that’s going away any time soon). Springfield Armory has a new compact pistol, Sig Sauer is making a limited run of P220’s, and Smith & Wesson made one of their popular compact handguns even better by making it Optics-Ready. Wait, there’s more. Daniel Defense just did an upgrade on the first bolt-action rifle they ever made, and Trijicon came up with an optic that will make the concealed carry crowd happy.

Donates $50,000 to California Rifle & Pistol Association for Standard Capacity Magazine Fight

Gun News. Remember the California magazine ban that was seemingly over-ruled last month….well, that’s not over yet. The fight continues, and Brownells decided to help with the fight by donating some cash to the cause.

Here’s what CRPA had to say about it:

In August, a three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals Ninth Circuit upheld a previous decision against California’s ban on magazines in the Duncan v. Becerra case. The panel determined a ban on magazines with capacity of over 10 rounds violates the 2nd Amendment rights of Californians.

In an effort to delay striking down California’s draconian magazine ban, the California Attorney General’s office petitioned for an en banc review of panel’s ruling, extending the struggle for California gun owners to regain their Constitutionally-guaranteed rights.

To help see that struggle through to a victorious finish, Brownells is contributing $50,000 for CRPA’s efforts to the cause.

“The California Rifle & Pistol Association Foundation is proud of the partnership with Brownells to fight for the rights of all Americans to exercise their Second Amendment rights,” said CRPA Foundation Director of Development Rick Travis. “Brownells’ generous donation will be used 100% in the fight to see the Duncan v. Becerra case to a successful conclusion in restoring the Second Amendment in California.”

If the rulings against California’s magazine ban are upheld, they could serve as precedent in similar decisions against other similar bans enacted by anti-gun politicians in other states.

⊕SAR USA

Ramps Up Production — Adds Fourth Shift

Gun News. The firearm market is hot, has been for months now, and SAR USA is stepping up to the plate to meet the current American demand.

“It’s not often that we can say, ‘This is a great problem to have’,” said Todd Pearson, COO of SAR USA. “We are thrilled with the way the customer has supported this great brand. It reinforces the fact that quality and technology has swung the pendulum in SAR’s favor. We also benefit greatly by acquiring the latest and greatest machines in manufacturing. This will, moving forward, cement the foundation that SAR USA was built on: the highest quality products, proudly carried by the world’s most elite forces and trusted by millions of civilians around the world.”

From Sarsilmaz:

…in an effort to meet the unprecedented number of SAR firearms being sold in the US, Sarsilmaz, SAR USA’s parent company in Istanbul, Turkey, has added a fourth shift. This will enable round-the-clock manufacturing and production to help meet the demand for their premium firearms. In addition, Sarsilmaz is adding one to two of the latest and greatest CNC machines available per week.

⊕Trijicon

Low Profile RMRcc

Gun News. As Pike says, “Trijicon RMR is, without a doubt, king of the mini red dot market. They are the most proven red dot on the market and the choice of many armed professionals.”

Well, now they’ve one-upped themselves by making a smaller version designed specifically for concealed carry on single-stack and subcompact pistols. It’s so small, it only weighs an ounce and is less than an inch in length and height. And according to Trijicon, the RMRcc can be mounted to 1911-style pistols and withstands the harsh recoil of .45 ACP and 10mm.

From Trijicon:

The RMRcc is ready to pair with any pistol to provide the ultimate concealed carry setup. The RMRcc is constructed from 7075-T6 aluminum, tested to Military Standards and backed by The Science of Brilliant® testing methodology that Trijicon applies to every product. Its patented shape absorbs impacts and diverts stresses away from the lens and is designed to withstand the rigors of hard use under the most severe environmental conditions. “Trijicon is proud to offer pistol owners an optic designed around their needs and built to Trijicon’s standards for durability,” said Chuck Wahr, Global Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Trijicon. “Users can have confidence in carrying a pistol equipped with the RMRcc.”

The RMRcc keeps all the great features of the RMR, including easy-to-use buttons, a common 2032 battery with up to 4 years of illumination, and a wide variety of mounts to fit today’s most popular concealed carry pistols. The RMRcc is available in either a 3.25 or 6.5 MOA dot size and provides a bright, illuminated aiming point under any condition. Best of all, the RMRcc is parallax-free, meaning simple “point and shoot” operation with superior accuracy.

For the ultimate in confidence, the RMRcc features an automatic brightness mode and 8 manual positions for custom settings. A Button Lock-In Mode prevents accidental adjustments to your preferred brightness setting, while a Battery Conservation Mode adjusts the aiming dot to ambient lighting conditions after 16.5 hours without a button push to further extend battery life. Windage and elevation adjustments allow for quick and easy zeroing with no need for any special tools or devices.

⊕Lipsey’s Guns

Exclusive GLOCK P80

Gun News. According to Lipseys, this collaboration with Glock began about three years ago. It’s a reproduction of the original Glock that the Austrian Army adopted back in 1982 — they called it the Pistole 80. Later introduced into the US, it was known as the G17, and was only available here for a couple of years until the Gen2 model came out in 1988. The US market never imported models marked “P80,” but now US Glock fans have an opportunity to get their hands on these reproductions that hearken back to the beginning of Glock history.

Lipsey’s Glock P80 is a historical reproduction of the original GLOCK pistol adopted by the Austrian Army in 1982.

From Lipsey’s:

After its American debut as the GLOCK 17 in 1986, the simple, yet proven, mechanics and materials have remained mainly the same. The original P80 and Gen1 G17 featured non-railed frames with no finger grooves and wrap around pebble grain texturing. Lipsey’s worked with GLOCK to recreate the Gen1 single pin frame and the original flat extractor. The P80 markings are the same font used in 1982. The classic “Tupperware” style container was also re-manufactured for this edition. Each GLOCK P80 includes a commemorative overbox and certificate of authenticity.

The new Lipsey’s Exclusive GLOCK P80 was developed to allow modern GLOCK enthusiasts to acquire a piece of the company’s unique history. The concept began with Jason Cloessner, Lipsey’s Vice President & Product Development Manager, who initiated the collaboration with GLOCK some three years ago. “I have always wanted to do a retro GLOCK pistol. GLOCK took painstaking measures to recreate the original frames and packaging to make this P80 edition as close to the original as we could get. Not only is this edition a great shooter, but it also helps tell the amazing story of how GLOCK came to be.”
