G.P.S. Tactical Range Backpack — Sage Dynamics Review

When you’re headed to the range, a lot of gear goes with you. For most of us, it’s a lot easier if that pile of parts and accessories is organized rather than sitting in one tangled mass inside a single-compartment bag. That’s where the G.P.S. Tactical Range Backpack comes in. It has multiple compartments and tons of organizational options so you can carry a lot of stuff while keeping it in its place. In this video, Aaron Cowan of Sage Dynamics tries out one of their backpack options.

Cowan says this backpack is not a Gray Man bag. Rather, it’s a backpack for the range—it isn’t trying to be anything it isn’t. It has the word ‘tactical’ in it’s name, after all, hence the color black but you can also get it in tan.

He goes into the bag’s features, saying, “if you’re like me, you’ve repurposed a bag for the range or found something that kind of works, but didn’t fulfill all your needs—but it got close enough…this bag has taught me that compartmentalization is super cool.”

One of the features Cowan points out is how the pockets are labeled, “so there’s no excuse not to put things where they belong. You might think it’s kind of kindergarten, but it’s actually pretty cool. …as long as I follow my little pictograms and put stuff where they belong, I can’t…lose them, and I don’t have to look through another pocket.

Take a look at the Sage Dynamics video review of the G.P.S. Tactical Range Backpack to get a better look at it and find out what all Cowan has to say about it:

Here’s how the manufacturer describes the backpack:

The GPS TACTICAL Range Backpack is free standing and is ideal for hands-free transport to and from the range. The backpack features 3 separate removable pistol storage cases. These pistol cases are padded and offer storage space for 1 pistol and 4 magazines each. The rigid honeycomb frame of the backpack along with the lockable YKK zippers ensure that your stored pistols remain secure. The Tactical Range Backpack is also equipped with a Visual I.D. Storage System clearly marked pockets for ear plugs, shooting safety glasses, shooting targets, ear muffs, tools, and more. This backpack includes a waterproof pull out rain cover to help keep its contents dry during rainy weather. The front pocket unzips to drop flat to offer a working surface at the range. A chest strap and padded waist belt help ensure load stability on your back. The Tactical Range Backpack is designed to provide hands-free, secure transport for your pistols, ammunition, and accessories to the range.

This is a bag that holds a ton of stuff. Whether you’re focused on guns and spare magazines or need all the detritus that goes with a trip to the range, this tactical backpack can carry it. In fact, if you have a takedown rifle, that could probably fit in there, too.
