Firearms conglomerate Colt CZ announced last week that it has acquired the remaining 75 percent stake in Swedish firm Spuhr i Dalby. Spuhr is a world-class manufacturer of firearm optic mounts, accessories, and upgrade kits. Spuhr products are used by military and law enforcement agencies the world over, including the Swedish armed forces, Danish Army, Dutch Army, German Police, and Portuguese Navy. Spuhr also offers a popular hunting product line. Colt CZ acquired its initial 25 percent stake in May of 2020.
“We are excited about Spuhr joining Colt CZ Group as a fully integrated member,” said Colt CZ CEO and Chairman of the Board Jan Drahota. “Spuhr has clearly demonstrated its ability to innovate, which we believe will bring more opportunities for the whole Group on both the military and law enforcement and commercial markets. We are eager to deepen our cooperation with Spuhr’s leadership, its employees, and its customers.”
The company joins Colt CZ Group’s other brands, including Colt, CZ, Colt Canada, CZ-USA, Dan Wesson, 4M Tactical Systems, BRNO Rifles, CZ Export, EG CZ Academy, CARDAM, and Vibrom.
“The successful cooperation between Colt CZ Group and Spuhr during the first two years has led to this next step,” said Spuhr CEO Ulf Nilsson. “Spuhr’s founder, Hakan Spuhr, and I will remain with the company and will continue to build the Spuhr brand together with Colt CZ Group. Being part of the Colt CZ family is a great opportunity for both Spuhr and its employees. We are all looking forward to even closer cooperation.”
Colorado-based Mile High Shooting is Spuhr’s official distributor in the United States.
Colt CZ Group is headquartered in the Czech Republic, with production facilities in the Czech Republic, the United States, Canada, and Sweden.
