The Christensen Arms Modern Hunting Rifle (MHR) line has been available (and popular) in short-action calibers like .308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor for some time. Now, happily for the .30-06 and .338 Lapua crowd, the MHR is available in long-action calibers. Modularity
Like their short-action predecessors, long-action MHRs are very modular rifles. Their Flash Forged Technology (FFT) stocks, forearms, and grips can all be mixed and matched as necessary to create a variety of configurations. Such modularity allows you to configure your rifle specifically for the end purpose, i.e., various competition types, different types of hunting, etc.
MHRs are built on an aluminum mini-chassis with V-block bedding for a mounting system. This kind of bedding is what enables the rifle’s modularity (and versatility). Traditional bedding wouldn’t do so well with interchangeable parts.
The MHR also has an adjustable trigger, which of course, allows you to set it right where you want it.
The last piece of it is the barrel. It’s a carbon fiber-wrapped barrel with a removable 5/8×24 stainless steel side baffle brake. Not only are carbon fiber barrels known for superior accuracy, but the removable brake (again, modularity) will also make an excellent host for your preferred can. You know, for when you go hunting politely (which is to say suppressed). They’re also light, which might not mean much if you’re sitting in a hide or blind, but is definitely a consideration if you’re stalking something over rugged terrain.
When it comes to feeding, Modern Hunting Rifles in both action types will have the option of a drop-box magazine conversion kit.
