Duty rifles must be reliable, and sometimes that consistent performance is prioritized over accuracy. Not so with the latest upgrade from Beretta. The Beretta Defense Technologies ARX 200 DMR in 308 Win has been fine-tuned and improved to deliver 1 MOA accuracy, which means it’s likely capable of sub MOA as well. The already well-made original ARX 200 model was made for military use while the ARX 200 DMR is crafted to perform above and beyond typical duty rifle expectations.

The Beretta ARX 200 DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO and offers numerous features that make it unique compared to many military issue guns. For example, this rifle has a fully adjustable folding stock, making it more portable and easier to fit to specific users. A full-length 54-slot STANAG 4694 rail makes it easy to add whatever optics are necessary and a slotted handguard broadens aftermarket accessory possibilities as well. The pistol grip is angled and textured for comfort and a sure grip during live fire. There’s also a rail on the stock to make it possible to use the gun with a monopod.

Adjustments to the stock are micrometric and can be done in the field with no need for tools. Flush cup swivel attachment points at the front and back make it possible to add a sling. This rifle has a 20-inch barrel which is four inches longer than the original ARX 200 barrel. The barrel has four grooves and clockwise rifling. Also, it is a semi-automatic gun, meaning it’s civilian-ready. Sources say the ARX 200 DMR retained the multi-lugs rotating bolt of its predecessor.

The Beretta ARX 200 DMR has been in the works for a while and it’s nice to see an accurate duty-capable rifle hit the market. Possible MSRP for the rifle is not known at this time.
