Details

Mec-Gar is recognized as the leader in magazine manufacturing. Mec-Gar manufactures their own line of magazines as well as factory magazines for some of the top firearm manufactures such as Sig Sauer, Walther, Browning and more. They provide  innovative, reliable and efficient steel magazines at affordable prices.

Technical Information:

Mec-Gar magazines are heat-treated to provide additional strength. The feeding ribs are precisely formed and shaped to guide each round of ammunition without jamming or slow down.

Mec-Gar magazines are made from certified Carbon Steel AISI 1010 or 17-7 PH aircraft-grade stainless steel. The are made of high tensile strength spring wire and reinforced coils with stiffening folds. This allows for an increase in thrust force.

With the incorporated high strength custom blended fiber-fill nylon bases or heat-treated steel bases designed, they are able to withstand the most severe of durability tests. Thanks to the strictest specifications, they’re precision-formed and boast perfectly interchangeable components.

  1. Crap magazines

    By Jacob November 29, 2016

I purchased these mags JUST over 60 days ago (of course), and now can not return them. I waited to long to try to return them because I had to do a YouTube review on them.
These mags are CRAP. They aren't crap because of inconsistent spring pressure, or something simple and expected like that out of an 11rnd magazine for a single stack 1911, but instead, the dimensions of the magazine are off, which allows it to over travel too far into a 1911, and lock the whole gun up.
Not only that, but when they don't lock the gun up, they are inherently unreliable. (that would probably have to do with the whole consistant feed pressure issue that many "high capacity" 1911 mags have)
To compound the problem, when these mags DO jam on you, don't tap the bottom of the magazine... the corners are so sharp they tore huge gouges out of the palm of my hands.
I will say that visually, fit and finish is very nice, as is the anti tilt follower design. But now since I can't return these mags here, I have to see what Mecgar themselves will do for me. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE MAGS! And if you do, WHEN they lock your gun up, make sure to contact gunmagwarehouse right away. They are no Brownells, that is for sure. If your a day over 60 days, and you have used the mags at all, they will not accept the return for a refund, store credit, or anything else.

  2. What's Not to LIKE!

    By Rob November 28, 2016

Mec-Gar makes a fine mag, no doubt about it!
I got 4 of these as "blemished" from another vendor, and the were all very good looking magazines, maybe the base plates were not as highly polished before the nickel plating was applied? GREAT PRICE for these, @GMW! Cannot recommend these more, 10*!!!
Most importantly, function was 100% and they also loaded fairly easy.

Mec-Gar is the OEM Mag Maker for a large number of European gun makers, BTW. I have lots of Browning Hi-Power mags, most are Mec-Gar. My buddy REAPER, who introduced me to this site has plenty of Mec-Gar mags, his CZ75 being one of his guns that uses them. We are both mighty pleased!
